Dear Greta,
Thanks for the good wishes.
The main reason to post is that the members of this list see the arrival of
what we hope will become a major lobbying force for our industry. We are
certainly working hard to achieve this.
If you look at the original think-piece, there are many things for us to be
getting on with !

With your own business, you will be aware of all of the neccesary costs of
a start-up, and we needed to set a budget to achieve this. We are trying
to get early membership applications from those who wish to lead this
development with us, and you may have missed the fact that the joining fee
is WAIVED for founder members - those who join in the next 3 months.
We appreciate that the lowest level of subscription will be unattractive to
single handed practitioners, and that many of the smaller players will be
content to enjoy the benefits that will accrue by "hanging on to the coat
tails" of the large and medium sized players. In the near future we will
be introducing an affiliate category - this will allow access to some
aspects of our members only website and other benefits, but not have voting
and other rights retained by members. Many other trade bodies have a
similar arrangement. The affiliate rate may also be attractive to
suppliers to our marketplace - where else can you get the majority of the
decision makers of OH employers in one organisation ?
If we are serious about fixing the constraints of our industry ourselves,
we do need a structure to do it - that doesn't come free.
I am more than happy to get into a discussion offline with you about what
we are trying to do.
Geoff Helliwell
