Thank you to you all who took the time to respond to my querie regarding
the above issue.
I would agree with you all who suggest that any assessment should be based
on capability and performance and NOT age.
I did receive an interesting and enlightening comment regarding absenteeism
in older people, as below.
"Information from companies which currently have policies of employing
older people suggest that such employees have a lower rate of absenteeism
and sickness. This may be because the group of older workers employed are
self-selected by their motivation and relatively good health."
Great to hear from you all - and I hope to continue for many years to
