Hi all,
Well we may have reached the end of the-phone-book.com's open submissions,
but you haven't seen (or heard) the last of us yet!
We're delighted to announce that the-phone-book Limited can be seen pretty
much everywhere during the Manchester Futuresonic 2004 festival later this
month. The sexiest event by far (not to downgrade the workshops and talk,
of course) is our Record Label Launch, celebrating the new release of two
'skratch DJ' vinyls - ultra-short-stories meet club culture! Finga Thing's
Peter Parker, World ITC Scratch Champion DJ Woody & G-Kut (co-creator of
the vinyl) will demonstrate how it's done properly on 29th April at Band on
the Wall, Manchester.
The record will be available on both 12" black vinyl (ref code tpb001) for
the skratch DJ, and strictly limited edition 10" red vinyl (ref code
tpb002) for the collector. Both feature individual words and phrases from
selected stories mixed with beats, scrapes and tones on side A, with entire
stories, radio 4 style, on side B.
Budding DJs can also learn to scratch and spin the-phone-book.com's CD or
the new vinyl at the School of Sound Recording's workshops on 27th April &
May 1st.
Come and find us:
1. Record Label launch @ Band on the Wall 29th April from 8pm.
2. Workshops @ Urbis from 30th - 2nd May, 10am-6pm.
3. Panel discussion @ Urbis Sat 1st May from 11.30am.
