Following on from the initial post on this subject: Muybridge set out to
find out whether all the horses feet left the ground at the same time when
it was galloping. This had been pondered for a long time and it seems
amazing that it is not possible to work this out just by looking. Thus,
photography was able to 'see' something that took place in front of a viewer
but which was not viewable.

I guess that Muybridge did not come up with the question, he came up with
the answer. So what is the question that is being asked that we can answer?
