John,
If you haven't yet, you should contact:

don't have her email address but it should be easy).
She was the leader in the development of standads for the Sphere Project
Handbook "The Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Disaster
Response", Revised Edition 2004.

Subject: disability and disasters: request for information and assistance
Next year, the Benfield Hazard Research Centre hopes to start planning a
collaborative action-research project on this subject, addressing two
related themes: (i) disability as a component of vulnerability and how to
overcome this; and (ii) disability as a consequence of disasters. The focus
will be on developing countries but the initiative will draw on approaches
in use worldwide. We've had a few preliminary conversations with potential
partners and gathered some of the limited information available on the
subject.
This, then is a request for help in identifying (i) documents and (ii)
people with experience in this field.
In particular, I would like to get hold of a copy of the old UNDRO
guidelines 'Disasters and the Disabled' (1982). Does anyone have a spare
copy, a scanned version, or one that they are willing to lend for
photocopying?
Thanks in advance, and best wishes
John
