Postdoctoral Fellowship in Laser Spectroscopy of Electrosprayed Ions
A postdoctoral position is available to develop a new experimental
instrument to perform spectroscopy on gas-phase ions that will be
generated using electrospray ionisation. The position is available
from 1 April 2004 for a period of two years. The successful applicant
will be responsible for overseeing the development of the instrument, and
will perform UV-VIS and IR spectroscopy using state-of-the art soid-sate
laser systems to characterise novel molecular ions and clusters.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience of gas-phase ion
spectroscopy and/or laser spectroscopy.

The salary will be on the scale for Research Staff Grade IA from £18,265
per anum (pay award pending) according to relevant experience.
