Chair in Bioactive Chemistry
We seek to appoint a Professor in Chemistry from 1st August 2005, to
provide leadership in research and enhance the education of students in
the highly rated Durham University Chemistry Department (2001: grade
5*A). The position derives from the University’s strategy to build on
the strength of Chemistry in Durham. You will have an internationally
recognised profile of excellence in research in any area of experimental
organic, biological or biomolecular chemistry, chemical biology or
biochemistry with a breadth of interests and an appreciation for other
research activities represented in the Department. You will also be
involved with the teaching of undergraduates on our 3- and 4-year
Honours Chemistry and Natural Science degrees through tutorials,
lectures and laboratory courses. The position is non-fixed term and the
initial salary will be in the Professorial range.
