A postdoctoral position in experimental physical chemistry/chemical physics
at Marquette University in the group of Professor Scott A. Reid is available
in early 2005. The successful candidate will conduct research in
laser spectroscopy of transient molecules, focusing on the spectroscopy,
photochemistry, and photophysics of simple carbenes. The work will involve a
variety of experimental techniques including fluorescence spectroscopy and
lifetime measurements, emission spectroscopy, quantum beat spectroscopy,
time-of-flight mass spectrometry and double resonance spectroscopy. The
applicant should be a recent (or soon to be) Ph. D. in Chemistry, Physics,
or a related field, and ideally have experience with laser technology,
vacuum systems, and related hardware. Please send a curriculum vitae and
