The University of North Texas invites applications for tenure-track openings
at the Assistant Professor level in the areas of Experimental Organic and
Physical Chemistry, starting Fall 2005. Applicants must be committed to
excellence in teaching at all levels and to conducting a vigorous externally
funded Ph.D. level research program. Candidates must possess an earned
Ph.D., and postdoctoral research experience is highly desirable.

list, statement of research plans, and statement of current and anticipated

UNT is a Class I - Doctoral Granting Institution on the north side of the
Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and is the fourth largest university in Texas

The Department of Chemistry is undergoing a significant expansion to
accompany the projected major increase in size of the University. The
department has just hired a Welch Chair in Chemistry (Dr. Weston Borden, a
world renowned computational organic chemist - URL:

granted a number of new faculty openings, in addition to the current
openings, in the next several years. A new Chemistry building is nearing
completion; ~1/3 of the faculty and staff have moved in and the move will be
