BRIJUNI CONFERENCE BRIJUNI (BRIONI) ISLAND, CROATIA
30.August-3. September 2004
NATO ARW
Matter under extreme conditions
Recent advances in experiments allowe probing matter under conditions that
are far from its normal state of normality. There are many areas where this
is the case, and only few will be reviewed, but covering Space, physics of
atoms/molecules, interaction with electromagnetic field and chemistry. The
Brijuni Conferences have tradition for reviewing interdisciplinary topics
(for details see the web site http://www.brijuni-conference.irb.hr ) and the
next one is devoted to this important and difficult subject. At the
conference the discussion periods are assigned significant lengths of time
and the oral presentations are designed to form a framework for meaningful
discussion. Apart from the usual aim of developing an up-to-date perspective
of the present state of a given topic, the fundamental scientific philosophy
behind the series of conferences is the stimulation of cross-disciplinary
flow of knowledge and expertise from both the experimental and theoretical
standpoints.
