Subject: My Research Study - Experiences of Endometriosis among
Greek/Greek-Cypriot, Chinese and Iraqi Women in the UK
Dear Webmaster,
Re: Experiences of Endometriosis among Greek/Greek-Cypriot, Chinese and
Iraqi Women in the UK
My name is Una from Ireland and I would appreciate any help with my
query. I am doing my PhD project at Middlesex University on the
experiences of Greek/Greek-Cypriot, Chinese, and Iraqi women living with
endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain in the UK. There has been very
little research on the needs of minority ethnic women living with
endometriosis, and there is a dearth of information on the illness
beliefs of these women, their support and their standards of care. The
aim of my research is to implement clinical guidelines for culturally
competent care of minority ethnic women living with endometriosis in the
UK.
Endometriosis is a mysterious reproductive disease that affects 1-2
million women in the UK between 18 and 50 years, and it affects women
from all races and cultures.
I would be interested to hear from any interested participants in my
study, and to request permission to place a notice on your message board
about my study. Participation is entirely voluntary and will include
one-to-one interviews or group interviews in the language choice of each
participant.
I would be glad to provide further information on request, and any
comments or feedback would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for your help.
Yours sincerely,
