In 19th century mining leases are stepped royalties (eg the Bromlow Mining Company was granted a lease from the Wakeman Estate at Rorrington Mine with 1/12th royalty up to 500 tons pa, 1/15th up to 1000 and 1/18th thereafter) uncommon? Mike Shaw
