The lead legacy - our heritage, our environment, our future.
A conservation initiative by English Heritage, English Nature and the Peak
District National Park Authority (PDNPA) targetting the upland lead mining
landscape of the southern English Pennines.
The initiative partnership have just issued a very good leaflet
illustrating their work, including a programme of events on lead mining
sites in the Peak District - Lead Rakes Week 22-29 May 2004 - but none of
the websites listed include any information on the initiative or the events.
For those interested there are four tel. nos. listed for more information -
English Nature 01629 816640
PDNPA 01629 816383
National Trust 01335 350503
Peak District Mining Museum 01629 583834
The latter should be the best source for information on the whole event
programme.
