Hi list !
Sorry to come in now and in a very imprecise way. I do'nt know if any french were company's owner in Flints or in another place in GB. But, short time attempts done by EMSE engineers (Saint-Etienne MIning School) , specially beetwen the 1840's and 1880s are always possible. In another way, The Vieille Montagne (Franco-belgium Company) bought and tried to develop mining works in GB (Alston Moor, i believe) circa 1896, and after, without success. But, everybody knows that, i presume.
Best regards

I believe that there was a Bog mine near Holywell, Flints. At least two
Shopshire mines were called South Bog (Rhadley and Rock) but neither 'Head'
nor French owners rings any bells.
