I've had a look through various things and can't find mention of needlework
per se, but (to keep this on-topic!) there is mention of congregation sizes
being related to mining activity.
Suggest you email Ann Parsons; the secretary of the church referenced above.
She might be able to help.
I have a few books on mining in the area (John Taylor, etc) and will see if
there is anything therein.
