You will also find some remarks on various other winders of this variety
around Chesterfield in "Observations on 'Ironstone Mining in
Derbyshire'" by myself in Mining History 13:5 pp89-90.. There were at
least 3 or 4 of these winders around Chesterfield and the report on an
inquest in January 1861 gives some details of the working of such a
winding system(!) at Newbold.
