Hi there:
On looking at the Inspector's Reports there were only two deaths
at Cotes Park Colliery between 1900 and 1913. The one in 1906 was
Cotes Park 09 November 1906 Smith, Joseph, Stallman - aged 62
After receiving his lamp at the pit top he suddenly expired. He died
from natural causes, and no inquest was held.
The other was in 1910
Cotes Park 16 June 1910 Horton, Paul, Bank Boy - aged 16
He evidently intended to pay a surprise visit to some other boys, for he
left his proper working place and went past a fence amongst the
machinery. He was caught in a moving belt and fatally crushed.
Cheers
