Nothing wrong with it, provided we're aware of its presence - and allow for
a counter arguement.

Hopefully that is been written by the team at the University of Nottingham
as we speak. But, yes, there is a need for some good accounts of recent
coal mining history (not just coal - but ferrous and non-ferrous metal
mining too) - thankfully the 20th century is now acceptable history. But it
is a real pity that some of the surviving technology of the period is
disappearing.
