SMIL is an HTML-like language that is easy to learn and can be authored

UK; information sources and services; searching the Web for film and
television sources; copyright - including educational exceptions. It is a
must for anybody undertaking film and video research for the first time.

Copyright Clearance for Print, Broadcast, and Multimedia Production:

The day will fully explore the practicalities of rights clearance, defining
rights and copyright in different formats, administrating the clearance
process and will include a workshop session.

This one-day course will give an introduction to locating and using audio
visual resources, which is aimed specifically at the Further Education
community.

Shooting with DV-CAM Level 2: Date TBA

Level 1: This course is being offered by the BUFVC for the non-technical to
understand how to shoot more professional footage and to make use of this
valuable tool. It assumes no pre-knowledge.
Level 2: Designed for those who already have a basic knowledge of Camera
operation, or those who have attended the BUFVC Digital Video Camera
Operation course or the Shooting with DV - Level One course.

Encoding Digital Video for Network Delivery - Introduction: Date TBA
Encoding Digital Video for Network Delivery - Advanced: Date TBA

Introductory level: Designed to give an overview of web based moving image
delivery. The course looks at content, technical issues, encoding and
metadata.
Advanced Level: Offers an in-depth programme to follow the Introductory
course, examining the paracticalities of web-based moving image delivery and
its uses. It covers production, system software, compression among other
areas.
