*apologies for cross-posting*
Dear friends and colleagues,
I'd like to present a Web resource that may be useful to you in your
e-learning research. The E-Learning Knowledge Base (EKB), at
http://ekb.mwr.biz, is the product of a joint research project between the
University of Leicester Department of Museum Studies and MacKenzie Ward
Research (mwr), a Winchester-based new media company.
The E-Learning Knowledge Base is a Web gateway to information about
e-learning, targeted towards the museum and tertiary education sectors. It
offers museum professionals and education specialists an avenue of access to
some of the most useful sites about e-learning. Since its publication in
September 2002, the EKB has grown to over 1000 visits per month from over 30
countries worldwide and now boasts over 200 site listings.
Covering themes such as e-learning in museums, e-learning in further
education, education research and e-learning standards, the site points
users to resources they can draw upon for the practical application of
e-learning as well as for research purposes. A brief write-up of each site
listed allows users to decide whether the information will be useful to
them. Through the EKB, users can access information about organisations
involved in e-learning, including museum and gallery organisations, UK
government bodies and agencies and international organisations. The gateway
also presents information about upcoming conferences and events and gives
access to some useful publications about e-learning. The EKB is updated
monthly.
Comments and suggestions would be most welcome, and can be sent to me, Nadia
Arbach, at [log in to unmask]
