The Information Resources Section was established in June 2000. The Section is responsible for the development of information about the Museum's collections, making this information accessible to staff, researchers and the public, and the delivery of the Museum's archive, registration and library services.
You will be primarily responsible for the strategic development of information about the Museum's collections. The post has a lead role in making information accessible to staff, researchers and the public, a key aspect of the Museum's Strategic Plan. You will play a major part in delivering partnership-based projects for the Museum and the regional Hub. You will manage the Information Resources Section and the implementation of its work programmes. You will also be responsible for the Museum's library and archive collections and the development of both services and for the Museum's registration services.
You will have at least 5 years' practical experience of information policy and management, and access work within a museum or archive environment, with a relevant professional degree. A pragmatic approach combined with excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is your experience of IT database systems.
