mda support for the MLA Museum Accreditation Scheme
We have recently revised many of our support materials to coincide
with the launch of MLA's Museum Accreditation Scheme. Estelle Morris,
Minister for the Arts, commented at the launch:
"By working together to set standards in this way it means that
museums can continually improve their management, collections and
services, so that they can meet the needs of today's visitors, while
at the same time safeguarding their collections for future
generations."
mda’s support for Accreditation starts with the mda Documentation for
Museum Accreditation pack, available in both hard-copy and on-line
formats. In five simple stages the pack assembles all the mda
resources needed by any museum assessing their documentation
procedures for Accreditation.
The pack enables the user to check their procedures against both the
Accreditation Standard and SPECTRUM: The UK Museum Documentation
Standard, and then leads them through the range of mda training,
advisory and support services that will help address any shortfall.
