MARKETING FOR SUCCESS - A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP ON EVALUATION AND MARKETING.

Monday June 14th 2004, University Of Strathclyde Graduate School of
Business, GLASGOW

ICLG(S) are delighted to present a workshop on evaluation and marketing of
information services in the business environment, delivered by one of the
most respected trainers in our profession, Lawraine Wood.

Aim

The aim of this workshop is to give participants an overview of the business
environment and of the importance of knowing the value of their contribution
to the business. It will refresh their thinking on the why, what and how of
evaluation. It will review the principles of marketing a service
organisation, allowing them an opportunity to apply those principles,
through activities, to their own services.

Objectives

At the end of the workshop, participants will have:

* Had an opportunity to review their environment, and the
opportunities and threats that are presented to them as Business Information
Manager
* Reviewed their own customer needs and expectations, and their
success in meeting them
* Considered some methods for evaluating their services
* Distinguished between marketing practices for goods and services,
and articulated the role of marketing in managing a library or information
service
* Have considered their own skills in relation to increasing their
personal effectiveness
* Examined strategies for promoting their services and expertise
