**PHYLLIS EDWARDS MEMORIAL LECTURE**
Aslib HQ, Temple Chambers, 3-7 Temple Avenue, London EC4Y 0HP
6.00pm on Thursday 18th March 2004
The Aslib Biosciences Group would like to cordially invite you to the 2004
Phyllis Edwards Memorial Lecture, the ABG's answer to the Dimbleby
Lecture. This year we are fortunate enough to have Paul Ayris, Director of
Library Services at University College London to speak on The future of
publishing in STM.
This talk will look at the current model for scholarly publishing from both a
Librarian's and an Academic's point of view. The impact of Information
Technology will be considered, the importance of external reviews of the
publishing market considered and a new paradigm for scholarly publishing
suggested.
The meeting will be rounded off with refreshments, courtesy of the Group.
Those who have attended before will know that our meetings are highly
enjoyable events and provide an excellent opportunity to renew old
acquaintances and establish new contacts. Space is limited so please book
early to avoid disappointment (no charge).
