VISIT TO THE BRITISH LIBRARY, BOSTON SPA
The Aerospace and Defence Librarians Group and the Industrial and Commercial
Libraries Group are arranging a joint visit to the British Library, Boston
Spa on Wednesday 20th October 2004, starting at 11.00 in the morning.
Transport can be arranged to meet some visitors travelling by train to York
at the beginning and end of the day.
The British Library, Boston Spa is home to the largest document supply
service in the world. For over 40 years they have delivered books, journal
articles, scientific reports, official documents, conference papers, patents
and theses to customers across the globe. Covering more than 100km of
shelving the massive collection covers all disciplines, languages and
materials but with a focus on science, technology and medicine. The visit
will include a tour of the site and presentations about recent developments
in services.
