Hi Laura
at one of our libraries we have a comfy sofa and bean bag in the young
adult area and it works well, apparently on saturdays you can't move for
teenagers sprawled all over the floor, chatting and reading mags and
graphic novels.
in another library we have a comfy sofa in the childrens area and parents,
teenagers and children like to sit with children and friends reading mags
or just relaxing.
we also have some high chairs for the elderly and we have had excellent
feedback for all these initiatives.
so yes i would say it works well.
