Library History editorship - vacancy
Library history is the scholarly journal produced by the Library and Information History Group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information
Professionals (CILIP). It has an international reputation and currently appears three times a year. It is published by Maney's, the journal publisher
based in Leeds.
Dr. Keith Manley is stepping down as editor after 16 years of exemplary and conscientious service and a replacement is now needed.
Only a small annual honorarium is paid and the rewards are mainly in terms of academic status and developing experience in editorial work. The
post would be eminently suitable to someone seeking to build a reputation in academia. The editor is automatically an officio member of the
Library and Information History Group committee and must, of course, be a member of the Library and Information History Group. However the
editor need not be a member of CILIP. To carry out his/her duties successfully the editor must have ready access to email, Word, a laser printer
to deal with illustrations, and a scanner.
Individuals interested in becoming the new editor should contact me in the first instance for more information. Please feel free to forward this
message to anyone you feel may be interested.
