I would welcome any thoughts on this too due to the same frustrations as
Paul!

Subject: Copyright Declarations
Hello all
I know that this is a question which arises every few months in the
world of document delivery, but I thought I might voice it again to find
out if there was any change in the current situation.
Has anyone managed to find a way around the issue of users ordering
photocopies of articles remotely by signing the copyright declaration
electronically. The last I heard was that electronic signatures were
legal (I could be wrong), but that they had to be more secure than a
user simply logging in with a borrower number and PIN. I just wondered
if anyone has had any more experiences on this subject that they could
share or has found a way to resolve it?
It seems that the majority of institutions ask their readers to print
off a copyright form, sign it and return it to the library, as we do at
UCW, but I'm forever hoping for a legal way around this as our distance
learners are constantly disadvantaged.
Regards
