PRESS RELEASE

Publishers contribute new content to Project MUSE®

BALTIMORE (December 14, 2004) - Project MUSE® is pleased to announce the
selection of 26 new scholarly, peer-reviewed journals to its 2005
collections from 9 ongoing publishers and 7 new publishers. These 26
journals were selected on the basis of their value to the collections, and
their inclusion in indexes and archival collections.

A unique collaboration between academic libraries and university presses
and scholarly societies, MUSE enables not-for-profit publishers in the
humanities and social sciences to disseminate their content globally.
Since 1999, more than 210 journals from over 50 publishers have been
selected for inclusion in the Project MUSE® collection, bringing the total
number of full-text titles offered to over 270. An estimated 10.8 million
scholars worldwide have access.

NEW TITLES FROM ONGOING MUSE PUBLISHERS

MUSE is delighted to announce that the following titles have been selected
from those submitted by existing publishers. The new title list includes
titles selected since the original announcement this past August.

Indiana University Press (http://www.iupjournals.org/), a member of MUSE
since 1999 and publisher of 23 journals in the collection, will add four
titles: Aleph: Historical Studies in Science and Judaism, Film History: An
International Journal, Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies, and

TITLE STATUS CHANGES

Three previously announced new titles will not be joining MUSE in 2005.

Scholar will no longer be published by the University of Nebraska Press.
Pacific Affairs is indefinitely delayed due to pending contract issues.
Please follow up directly with these publishers for more information.

MUSE regrets that two titles in addition to the ones announced this past
summer will not be continuing in MUSE in 2005. Joyce Studies Annual has
ceased publication. Geographical Analysis has moved to a for-profit
publisher for 2005. All issues previously published in MUSE will remain in
the collection.
