Speaker: Peter Beauchamp, Head of Local Government and Libraries and Chief
Library Adviser at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
Peter Beauchamp will discuss the relationship between the Department for
Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and local government. The talk will include
reference to libraries.
Peter is a well-known figure in the library and information sector, having
had long experience at the heart of the Government policy making machine and
keeping the library flag flying in Whitehall. These days he is playing a
wider local government role but remains the professional adviser to the
Government. He is a Chartered Member of CILIP.
CILIP in London evening meetings are free and open to all with a
professional interest in the topic.
They are a follow-up to meetings held by CILIP's London and Home Counties
Branch and IIS Southern Branch. Refreshments will be available afterwards.
