The Multimedia Information and Technology Group (North West) is pleased to announce a seminar entitled:
E-books: how to make them work
Liverpool John Moores University, 1.30 p.m., Wednesday 10th November
Provision of electronic books (e-books), particularly from a library and information perspective, has developed rapidly and significantly during recent years. As a result, understanding of the impact of e-books upon library and information services and their users is a current topic of interest. This seminar seeks to illustrate some of the varying e-book activities currently in place. A case study of consortium purchasing of e-books and their impact on an academic community will be followed by a presentation illustrating the views and activities of JISC. Finally an insight into some current research into e-book activity will allow attendees of the seminar to enjoy three different but significant perspectives on e-book use.
