I'm going on my first 'training visit' next week,
and am looking forward to it.
Although I'm familiar with most of the libraries we're going to visit in
the near future,
it'll be good to see them from a different perspective.
Also, I'm going to be able to ask a lot of work-related questions
that I might not have had the opportunity to ask face to face
otherwise, particularly on the implementation of IT projects that some
of
the other libraries have experience of.
Maybe if anyone were having problems getting their employer to give them
time to visit other libraries (I'm thinking Route B folk),
the chance to ask questions that would be useful to your library
might be helpful in persuading them to let you go?
Sorry I can't help Jane in finding local libraries for her to visit.
Good luck,
Carol.
