E-LIS is an open access archive for scientific or technical documents, published or unpublished, on Librarianship, Information Science and Technology, and related application activities. E-LIS archive's goal is to promote communication in this field by the rapid dissemination of papers. Eprints for LIS has been established as a community service by rclis <http://rclis.org> (Research in Computing, Library and Information Science) to promote open access to papers on these fields. Rclis <http://rclis.org> is a project to build a database about current and past documents in computing, librarianship, information science and technology and related application activities. In keeping with the objectives of the EPrints movement <http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/%7Eharnad/Tp/nature4.htm> and the Free Online Scholarship (FOS) movement <http://www.earlham.edu/%7Epeters/fos/fosblog.html>, we expect this service to facilitate self-archiving for LIS researchers and long-term preservation of their scholarly publications, provide world wide easy access to these publications and improve the impact of their research.
