I have tried to stop the MDS on the SEs, but this operation fails in all of them:
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/globus-mds stop
Stopping Globus MDS [FAILED]
Indeed, after issuing this command I still see plenty of slapd processes running in the machine...
It seems that the globus-mds daemon does not store properly the PID of the launched slapd process at startup in a file, so it is not able to kill them
when the 'stop' action is invoked.
