Yes there will be an update soon.
The problem with getting it out to the sites is that we have the
experiments doing their
data challenges at the same time. Since we know from previous updates
that new releases
bring a time of relative instability with them we are doing this
currently in small incremental
steps. We started to move some of the services at CERN (CE, SE, RBs) to
the new version of the software and
gave the experiments alternative RBs to be able to use for the data
challenge old and new services in
parallel.
The next step is now to see how the upgrade of the CERN WNs in the LSF
farm will
work. If this goes well we will release the new software first to the
sites formerly known as core sites and
when this went smooth the other sites can follow.
The release was delayed a bit in addition since we had to make the load
balanced gridFTP service interoperable
with the old and new clients.
