Jeff, Dave,
Just to comment (wearing my hat as chair of the Joint Security Group) that I
agree with your concerns about access to the logs. There are all sorts of
security and privacy concerns about full access.
We should discuss how to move forward (not on the LCG-rollout list, I think.
We can summarise later)

Subject: Re: [LCG-ROLLOUT] Call for Job Accounting Logs
Hi *,
This request reminds me of something that came up in
the EGEE all-activity meeting. There is apparently
some new system (the one you are talking about?) for
doing job monitoring, using R-GMA. However I haven't
seen any design or description of what data will be
monitored. For example what the system should NOT
do is deliver essentially what you are asking for below!!
Can you tell us what information you need from
these files. I am not willing to send you just
the entire files, as a) there is a lot more info
in there than you could ever need and b) some of
the info in there is none of LCG/EGEE's business.
I don't see why for example LCG/EGEE needs to know
how often the NIKHEF sysadmins logged in to the CE.
Or how many jobs our local theory group ran.
Maybe this is a good way to start the discussion
about whether the new system's design is correct.
