The only thing I recall missing from the install notes with LCFG is that
prior to configuring the mysql database you first have to start the mysql
daemaon:
/sbin/service mysql start
Did you create the machine profile with the correct box type?

You could see if /opt/edg/etc/init.d/edg-tomcat4 exists and try that
instead, but I think that's only a problem with manual installations.
