Understanding Islamic Law for Resources and International Trade
The CEPMLP, University of Dundee is holding a comprehensive 5 day
seminar from 14 - 18 March in Dundee, Scotland entitled "Understanding
Islamic Law for Resources and International Trade". The seminar will
assist delegates in attaining a better and clearer understanding of
Islam and its legal and commercial principles, thus enabling the shaping
of business strategies that work in parallel with Islamic law and
commerce.
Seminar Director Fayyaz Qureshi has been based in Pakistan for over a
decade in both a commercial law environment. As an advisor to
government and banking, and has seen at close quarters the process of
Islamisation in that country, its impacts on the economy and in
particular the problems associated with the legislation for the
elimination of interest (Riba). He will be joined by fellow experts in
the field of Islamic economics, law, banking and finance.
This seminar is great relevance to all those who are looking to develop
an insight into the legal and commercial implications of future
investment in the Muslim world.
