The Health Libraries Group is a UK-wide forum for people working, or
interested in health and community care library and information services.
With over 2,000 members, we are the largest special interest group in this
field. HLG includes librarians and information workers in the NHS, voluntary
organisations, professional associations, public libraries, universities,
colleges and industry.
As a group we want to create an active and diverse membership. However, we
are aware that we are not reaching all of those who could benefit from
membership, especially para-professional library and information staff,
library/information assistants, and/or those not in a traditional library
and information role.
Membership will cost £15 per annum. The benefits include receiving a copy of
the HLG newsletter, a discounted Health Information and Libraries Journal
(HILJ) subscription, a discount on courses and other CPD events, attendance
at HLG conferences at members discounted rate and the AGM. Affiliated
members will not be eligible to be Officers (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer) of
the group.
Members of CILIP do not need to apply for Affiliated Membership. They can
get free membership of HLG by ticking the appropriate box on their
membership renewal form.
So if you, or any of your colleagues, are interested in becoming an
Affiliated Member of the Health Libraries Group, contact the Membership
