> The National Institute for Clinical Excellence provides authoritative guidance on clinical and cost effectiveness to the NHS in England and Wales through its Technology Appraisals and Clinical Guidelines.

> The Institute has created three new Information Assistant posts (2 permanent, 1 temporary post for six months) within the Technology Appraisals Team, which will provide a stimulating and supportive opportunity for enthusiastic individuals with an interest in health care.
>
> Reporting to an Associate Programme Director, you will work closely with the existing Information Specialists, and other members of the appraisals team. You will play a pivotal role in the appraisal process by providing information services to the appraisals team, for example, by keeping them up-to-date on key areas, and searching for, collating and distilling information to aid the development of the scope for individual appraisals, and the delivery of library facilities to the Institute. In addition there will be opportunities to work with other directorates within the Institute.

> Ideally you will have a post graduate qualification in librarianship/information science (or have an award pending), skills/experience in searching the health/medical literature, experience of delivering library services, and the ability to work independently and flexibly, to tight deadlines as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
