What can I say? The BMA has such thick walls it's not possible from outside
to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of those of us striving within.
Every year I wonder why I stick with it and hope that things will get less
frustrating if I just hang on and keep growling and biting people's ankles.
Also am arrogant enough to think if I were not there it would be even worse.
Who knows? The trouble is, as one bit gets better another gets worse and we
seem to be having so little impact on the disorganisation of the NHS in
which most of us work. I grieve for the amazing achievements of general
practitioners, the result of thousands of hours of effort and energy and
which have been swept away by barbarians. If only I had a driving ambition
to be a Dame it might sustain me in the struggle but after nearly 20 years
I'm running out of steam.
Is there a Dudley Howling Group?
