I'd do it with the address database...
It was an RFA4 feature I think, so should be present in an arguably workable
form in all curent GP computer systems.
It is an easier problem than linking families, the latter being one I solved a
few years ago but have not really found use for.
(Solution: start with the oldest woman in the Practice population, label her
family 0. For the next oldest woman, if they are a descendant of her, they
are in family 0, if not then they are in family 1 --> limit
For each person add them to each family who has an ancestor of theirs.
(Males with no older female relative may also be the index member of a family.
Then calculate genetic percentages from a table of relativeness, a step I
didn't bother to work, and use that for calculations of risk etc.
