Am discussing with my PCT over Seniority. They seem to imply that time in
the Forces as a doc, even as a Forces GP, cannot count to Seniority under
NGMS. This seems very discriminatory and certainly is biased against doctors
joining the Forces or when retired from them, joining an NHS practice. Yet
both the Forces and NHS need GPs as never before. One of the ideas of the
new seniority arrangments was to retain experienced GPs. can't get a
definitive opinion on this and little in guidance of use.
Anyone had success on this one? Fay, what does the GPC and the BMA Armed
Forces Committees have to say on this?
