Practice manager has just today received an invite to a meeting to
demonstrate our LSP's 'Solution'. As part of the presentation is by a Torex
rep I'm assuming they're referring to their clinical system.
The meeting is on either Tues next (25th) or Thurs 3rd June neither of which
is suitable for my PM. Great timing, guys.
Solution is apparently similar to Synergie and will presumably be centrally
served.
We know what NPfIT seems to say about GPs not being forced to change if
change damages the staus quo.
But, what would the alternatives be? (thinking about us only at present)
Synergie Enterprise? - centrally served
Synergie? - will it survive?
Can't keep to S6000 cos it's not compliant
We've been reliably informed that with a centrally served solution:
- we will no longer have the same functionality with FrontDesk (which we
love :-) )
- we won't be able to link our ECG software to our clinical system
- we won't be able to link our ABPM software to our clinical system
- next upgrade to ICERequesting is supposed to link to Synergie database,
but not if it's centrall served
- we may not be able to link our referral letters to our clinical system
And in light of Paul's email 'security of Path Links- breach of
confidentiality x2.', perhaps there is a lot of justification for being
somewhat less than enthusiastic!
I'll go to the 2nd meeting and see what all the fuss is about
