Of course, which of the many flavours of HL7, and exactly what one means by
HL7 is a problme as usual.

They are involved in the production of modules for Paediatrics and Obstetrics,
which were the weaker parts of VistA for obvious reasons.
Again, the story goes that one can implement one or several modules rather
than all of them.
M does seem to be a reasonably integratable platform in the hands of M
programmers.
The chance of success of the newly written and assembled commercial systems
would apepar to be on the close order of 20% ...
