We've just received, and had installed, 10 new PCs to help with our upgrade
to Synergy, and to allow us to run the Torex contract software which
apparently wouldn't run on our previously specc'd machines.
Groovy black Dell desktops and TFTs all around, with subtle NHS labels,
unsubtle stamping of 'Health Services' across top of desktop, and they even
had the cheek to change the Win2K start up splash screen to the blue and
white NHS logo, and used the same for the desktop background, and set IE's
home page to the PCT extranet.
Rapidly adjusted.

That obviously is a very difficult topic, but I think there is a very
important point of tact and demonstrating the distinction between what is
mine and what is theirs involved.
It is appallingly rude and very bad people management to march into a place
and cover the kit with stickers proclaiming (as any asset tag does if only
by
implication) that you own it, especially if you don't.
Now a sticker saying "for prompt, efficient and free service at any time,
call
this number" along with an ID for the kit might be acceptable, provided the
SLA is enforceable.
