This is advance notice of the next annual conference of the BSA Sociology of
Religion Study Group, on the theme of Religion and Gender, to be held at
Lancaster University from 11 - 13 April 2005. This event is being organised
by Linda Woodhead, with Paul Heelas. Speakers will include:
Colin Campbell, Callum Brown, Charlotte Hardman, Dick Houtman, Sevgi Kilic
and Penny Marler.
The Conference invites papers on these and related themes:
Gendering secularization and sacralization theory
Migration, gender and religions in the UK/Europe
Religion and masculinity
Christianity, sexuality and gender identity
New spiritualities: feminizing the sacred?
Gender, Sexuality and Islam
Gender stereotyping in the academy
