hi laura,
thanks very much for the book suggestions. i have some of them on my reading list for xmas; others are new to me. im not suggesting polyandry would be an indication of a more feminist society, as i think feminism is a modern invention and to look for that in the past i think would most likely become projection. rather, i am interested in attempting to recover a history of this period that is gendered and examines the role of female practitioners as well as men. i think this may prove most fertile in the non-celibate tradtions of tibet. i hope to examine some archeological evidence as well, if i can find any resources !
thanks again for your reading suggestions, particularly those regarding the treasure text tradition, i will def follow them up,
dan :)
