I suspect that this is because some files in the feat directory are
symbolic links to the original images elsewhere (such as the structural
image used in registration). This is done to save disk space.
In this case, one easy fix is just to make a copy of the feat directory
using "cp -r"; normally this will not put a copy of the links, but a copy
of the actual files the links point to, in the new copy of the feat
directory. You can then archive this new directory.
