Hi Lyndsay.
I really dont buy the Augés concept of "non-places". I think that,
leaving aside the morphological similarities, all places are
qualitative different once you know them. The sound you hear, the
people you are with and the people you meet (or the people youre
thinking of), the situations you watch and the feelings you have build
a particular place, an own place. Maybe all airpoirts resemble each
other, maybe all malls too... but for me they are no the same.
In any case, if you are looking for some movies that reflects the
concept, here are some:
* Malls: "scenes in a mall" (Woody Allen and Bette Midler), "amarte
duele" (mexican), "Dawn of dead" (Romero)
* Airports: "Terminal" (Spielberg) is good for the point i was making:
a non-places that is resignifacte throught experiencies.
Good luck with your work.
